Tallow is a purified, nutrient-rich fat derived from beef.

For centuries, it has been used in traditional skincare because its natural structure closely resembles the oils our skin produces. This allows it to absorb well and help support the skin barrier.

High-quality tallow naturally contains fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E and K, along with fatty acids that help soften and protect dry or compromised skin.

At Origin Blends, we use halal, grass-fed, food-grade tallow that is carefully rendered and blended into modern, lightweight formulations.

As a small, family-run brand producing in limited batches, we do not currently hold third-party halal certification.

Our formulations do not contain alcohol, pork derivatives, or non-halal animal by-products. We are intentional about our sourcing and production process to ensure every batch aligns with halal-conscious standards.

As we grow, formal certification may be considered. Our commitment to ingredient integrity remains the same regardless.

No. Our tallow is carefully rendered and filtered to remove impurities before being formulated. It does not smell like meat.

In fact, many customers are surprised by how pleasant it smells.

No. Tallow has been used in traditional skincare long before modern cosmetic manufacturing existed.

It isn’t new. It’s just been replaced by cheaper, petroleum-based alternatives over time.

We chose to bring it back, thoughtfully and intentionally.

All Origin Blends balms are water-free, concentrated, and naturally rich in fat-soluble vitamins found in grass-fed tallow. The difference lies in their purpose and ingredient profile.

For redness-prone or reactive skin:
Choose Tallow Balance. Formulated with blue tansy and Sidr honey to support calmer-looking skin and barrier comfort.

For acne-prone or congested skin:
Choose Tallow Coffee. A balancing face and body balm often preferred by those simplifying routines without harsh actives.

For glow and deeper nourishment:
Choose Tallow Elixir. A botanical-rich blend designed to support radiant, well-nourished skin.

For overnight calming and restoration:
Choose Tallow Night Restore. A firmer balm created to comfort dry, stressed, or irritated skin while you sleep.

For everyday comfort with a soft vanilla scent (2+):
Choose Tallow Dream. A simple, family-friendly blend for daily face and body nourishment.

For delicate or easily irritated skin:
Choose Tallow Gentle. A minimal barrier balm suitable for sensitive skin and babies 6 months+.

For relaxation and evening wind-down (legs, back, feet):
Choose Tallow Tranquility. A magnesium-infused body balm designed for comfort and relaxation.

All balms are suitable for face and body unless otherwise stated. Use a small amount on slightly damp skin.

No. We do not use synthetic fragrance or “parfum” in our formulations.

If a product is scented, it is lightly fragranced using carefully selected essential oils in safe, balanced percentages according to IFRA guidelines. 

Because we produce in small batches, we are sometimes able to accommodate minor adjustments upon request, such as omitting essential oils, depending on ingredient availability and production timing.

Store your balm in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Room temperature is perfectly fine (below 25°C). There is no need to refrigerate.

Avoid placing the jar in hot, humid, or wet environments. If exposed to heat, the balm may soften — this does not affect quality. Simply allow it to return to room temperature.

The expiry date is printed on the bottom of each jar. For best freshness, we recommend using within 6 months of opening.

Because our balms are water-free and do not rely on traditional preservatives, it’s important to avoid introducing water into the jar. Always use clean, dry hands and close the lid tightly after use to maintain stability and freshness.

Yes, we recommend patch testing before first use.

Everyone’s skin is different, and even natural ingredients can cause sensitivity in some individuals.

Apply a small amount to the inner arm and wait 24 hours before full application, especially if you have sensitive or reactive skin.

Apply a small amount to slightly damp skin.

Because our balms are concentrated and water-free, you need less than you think — usually a pea-sized amount for the face.

Gently massage into the skin until absorbed.

All balms are suitable for face and body use except Tallow Tranquility, which is designed specifically for the body (legs, back, and feet).

The balms can be used as:

• As a daily moisturiser
• As a night balm
• On dry patches
• On hands, elbows, or cuticles

All orders are dispatched for next-day delivery, and transported in temperature-controlled vehicles to help maintain product quality during transit.

Due to the nature of personal skincare products, we are unable to accept returns once items have been opened.

However, if your order arrives damaged or in an unfit condition, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery and we will resolve the issue promptly.
